The whole experience was incredible!! The views in the canyon are breathtaking! Everyone was very professional and yet kind, friendly, and helpful. We felt safe and could tell that our guide was very experienced. The rafting itself was just the right length of time and level of difficulty for us. In the video, you saw a kayaker swimming… with a badly damaged boat.
Here’s the missing piece of the story, and the shot just before the impact!
One of our safety kayakers went down the famous Aldeyjarfoss (22m).
The power of the waterfall crushed his boat and helmet on landing.
The important part: he was totally fine, uninjured, and back working on the river the very next day.
A lucky outcome and a strong reminder that the river always deserves respect.
